Groups and Activities at St Paul's

"For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them" Matthew 18:20 (NIV)

Friendship Groups and Bible Study

  • There are a number of groups of different ages that meet in homes at different times of the week for friendship, learning from Godís word and reflection on life, prayer, and of course food!
  • A Bible study group meets at lunchtime every fortnight
  • We offer blocks of after-worship bible study several times a year for those who want to worship and grow further on the same morning while they are here.

SPACE (Sunday School) for Children

  • "SPACE" stands for St Paulís Active Childrenís Education and is for children over 3 years of age. After the first 15 minutes in worship (sometimes including a talk to them by pastor) the children leave for a program of fun activities and Bible teaching with adult supervision by people who have been trained in our "Safe Place" policy. The children are brought into the church again briefly for a personal blessing by pastor during Holy Communion. SPACE concludes just in time for morning tea as parents leave church.

Ministry Teams

  • Our ministry is overseen by a Board of Ministry which is elected from members each year. They each have a team they work with to carry out and oversee our ministry. Teams include Worship, Pastoral Care, Outreach, Children and Youth and Administration. Ministry at St Paulís is very much a shared responsibility and privilege. There are many opportunities and ways of expressing our faith through the ministry at St Paulís and we encourage our members to serve God in their daily callings at home and work as well.

20's+ Group

  • A group for young people in the in 20ís and early 30ís meets fortnightly in homes to reflect on Godís word and encourage each other in life.

Young Parents Group

  • A group of young parents come together weekly or when they are able for mutual encouragement and friendship and to support each other in parenting.

Women's Fellowship

  • A group of mainly senior women meet monthly to grow in Godís word, share life and lunch and engage in projects and the occasional trip together.

Musicians

  • Several groups of musicians play in worship and are always looking for singers and new sounds!

"A Safe Place For All"

  • St Paulís is part of the Lutheran Churchís ďSafe PlaceĒ policy. We aim to care for people and to protect them from any form of abuse. There is a confidential hot-line phone number and e-mail address available for anyone who feels their safety has been compromised.
